Unlike some of Chopin’s more lyrical preludes, this one feels urgent and almost explosive, with quick gestures that build toward a powerful final cadence.Measures 1–4 introduce the tense opening character. The music begins softly, but the quick figures, rests, and crescendo markings immediately create a feeling of nervous energy. The short phrases should sound intense and unsettled, not smooth or relaxed.Measures 5–9 continue the dramatic motion with more force. The music uses sudden accents, fast passing notes, and sharp changes of direction.
