Clementi sends this compact material through wide stretches of the keyboard over slower chordal harmonies.\r\nThe opening climbs from the lower register into the treble, where the repeated-note stream continues above sustained bass chords. Successive phrases descend, rise again, and take on chromatic color while the accompaniment alternates held harmonies with measured chord pulses. After a held pause, the quick material increasingly passes into the lower part, leaving longer upper notes suspended above it. The opening upward sweep returns, and the final section combines renewed high-register motion with a closing rise in both parts.\r\nOne striking exchange occurs when the running figure moves into the bass while the upper part holds broad chords.
