Heller gives its short phrases the character of animated conversation, with the melody repeatedly changing register. The opening ideas alternate clipped gestures with flowing answers. A central passage sends triplets downward through the keyboard and develops fragments of the tune before the opening returns. Later, a much slower, expressive episode interrupts the activity; rising exchanges rebuild momentum, and a final Vivo passage cascades down to a quiet finish. Interesting fact: the last flowing run passes from the upper register into the lower one, allowing the musical story to disappear toward the bottom of the keyboard.
