First published: unknown. Completeness: unknown.Remembrances of the Theatre is an animated miniature built from urgent melodic runs and sharply dotted rhythms. Its changing textures suggest a sequence of dramatic gestures within a compact two-beat frame. The opening melody moves in quick descending groups over held and repeated chords. The contrasting section brings bold dotted figures, low octaves, and fuller harmonies, then relaxes through a more flowing passage. The opening idea returns softly before rising again into a forceful final statement. Interesting fact: the accompaniment changes from long sustained chords to repeated short attacks, intensifying the same melodic material without needing a new theme.
