First published: unknown. Completeness: unknown.Schumann's A Round moves in a gentle 6/8 flow, with a rising and falling melody supported by sustained inner notes. The interlocking voices make the music feel continuous even when individual lines pause. The opening tune returns in varied forms, its smooth contours colored by chromatic harmonies and quiet dynamic swells. A more active middle passage sets the hands in overlapping motion before slowing briefly into the theme's return. The final pages revisit these exchanges and settle into a softly sustained A-major close. Interesting fact: long tied notes often remain in the texture while another voice continues moving, allowing stillness and motion to coexist within the same measure.
