In G major and common time, this Allegro places a predominantly quarter-note melody above left-hand broken figures with sustained bass notes. Measures 9–14 introduce repeated descending melodic gestures; the left hand pauses in measure 16 for a flowing right-hand figure, then the earlier texture returns.
