After the first cadence at measures 11–12, the material expands through continuous broken-note patterns, chordal exchanges, and sharply accented figures. At measures 54–55, a descending four-octave sequence briefly suggests the sound of bells. The opening material returns in altered form before a coda gathers the fragmented motives into broader, more forceful lines and closes with sustained B-minor chords.
