Completeness: unknown.The Finale of Alkan’s Symphony for Solo Piano, Op. 39 No. 7 in E-flat minor, opens at Presto with a low march-like pulse beneath long melodic phrases and quick exchanges between registers (mm. 1–96). Quieter sustained lines, detached chords, and imitative writing follow (mm. 97–195), before a brilliant central span joins running lines, marcato figures, and emphatic chordal replies (mm. 196–278). Broad sustained harmonies lead back into flowing motion (mm. 279–375), and the final crescendo rises to massive repeated chords and widely spaced closing attacks (mm. 376–411).
