Quick figures in paired notes give the music its bright, restless character, while exchanges between the registers keep the texture changing. The opening builds from light upper figures into fuller passages supported by moving bass lines. Chromatic sequences, downward runs, and chordal punctuation lead to a repeated first section with two endings. The continuation thins into an exchange of single lines before rebuilding the paired-note texture. Familiar opening material returns, followed by further changes of register and increasingly insistent lower notes. An extended upper trill stretches across the final approach, and emphatic chords bring the movement to a firm, held conclusion. Near the end, the upper trill continues while the harmony below it changes, turning a decorative gesture into a sustained point of tension before the closing chords.
