First published: unknown. Completeness: unknown.Reinhold’s Marsch, Op. 39, No. 1, builds a compact procession from clipped dotted rhythms, short triplets, and firmly outlined chords. Its quiet beginning is unusually low in the piano, giving the march a restrained entrance before its sound broadens. The opening bass figure rises beneath held harmony and is answered by short upper chords. A contrasting passage brings stronger chordal calls and softer sustained replies. When the low opening figure returns, it leads into a more animated sequence of exchanges, thicker chords, and a forceful closing stretch. The final bars recall the low triplets before a decisive rhythmic chord ending. Interesting fact: the right-hand staff is silent for the first two measures; the march establishes its character entirely in the lower staff before the upper part joins.
