Accents and held tones bring the tune into focus above the surrounding motion. Measures 1–16 present the upper melody within repeated inner figures and occasional rising runs. The accompaniment alternates sustained intervals with short chordal responses as the harmony becomes more chromatic. Measures 17–20 move the quick figures into the bass beneath a tied upper melody. A rising sequence and descending flourish then lead back to the opening material at measure 25. The last phrase expands into a high upward gesture over a descending bass. Interesting fact: At the end, the two voices travel in opposite directions, widening the register immediately before the final silence.
