First published: unknown. Completeness: unknown. This B-flat-major prelude is shaped by two expansive runs: an opening descent and a later chromatic ascent. Short chordal passages separate these long gestures. The opening bass and chord introduce an upper figure that curls downward and continues into the lower register. A sustained low note brings the descent to a halt. Broad intervals briefly stabilize the texture before a quiet chromatic line begins climbing. The ascent crosses into the treble register and reaches a forceful high arrival; widely spaced closing chords then settle the music. Interesting fact: During the opening descent, the score explicitly labels the right-hand line on the lower staff as the melody moves below its original register.
