First published: unknown. Completeness: unknown.A Little Dance is a lively two-beat miniature whose melody moves between gentle arches and wide, detached leaps. Tied lower notes give the opening an undercurrent of sustained motion. The first section presents the rounded melody, then shifts to a brighter high-register figure with larger jumps. A quieter repetition leads back down toward the cadence. The contrasting section starts with flowing eighth notes over held lower intervals, then adds chromatic color and a brief slowing pause. The opening returns at the original tempo, with its leaping figure extended into the final descent. Interesting fact: The return is prepared by both a rallentando and a fermata, creating a moment of stillness before the dance resumes at a tempo.
