The wide separation between the two parts gives the music a distinctive ringing space. The opening alternates detached notes with quick curled figures high above the bass. A lower, fuller middle phrase adds paired notes and chromatic color before the first tune returns. The bass keeps its repeated, tied rhythm through nearly the entire dance, stopping with the melody at the final pause.
