First published: unknown. Completeness: unknown.Op. 249, No. 27 is a C-major Allegretto with repeated melody notes and a steadily alternating lower line. Short slurs and detached endings give its phrases a buoyant character. Measures 1–8 introduce a small upward leap followed by repeated notes, then answer it with a downward turn. The second phrase expands the rise and ends more quietly in longer notes. Measures 9–16 start the idea from a different pitch and briefly make the upper line more flowing. The familiar repeated-note gesture returns before fuller lower chords support the closing cadence. Interesting fact: The bass keeps a nearly uninterrupted quarter-note pulse while the melody varies between eighth notes, quarters, and half notes.
