Hunting Song is a lively F-major miniature with a bounding 6/8 pulse. Repeated calls, accented notes, and rising broken-chord figures give the music its outdoor, energetic character. The opening theme moves largely in parallel between the hands, alternating short calls with quick rising and falling figures. The second repeated section introduces stronger dynamic contrasts and fuller harmony, then develops the call-like rhythm through sequences. The closing phrases return to clear F-major gestures with a final rising bass figure. Interesting fact: the first tune is presented in different octaves by the two hands, giving its call a direct, unified sound before the texture becomes more harmonically layered.
