Spring Song is an intimate E-major piece with a gently swaying 6/8 rhythm. Paired notes, dotted figures, and delicately shifting inner voices give its melody a warm, expressive color. The opening phrases recur with small changes in harmony and bass movement. A contrasting passage thins the texture, letting broken figures pass between registers before a hushed chordal exchange. The principal melody returns more fully, and later recollections of both ideas lead into an expanded, quietly settling close.
