Measures 1–2 open quietly with isolated notes and widely spaced chords. At measure 3 the Presto begins, filling measures 3–22 with continuous chromatic runs that sweep across the keyboard above sustained bass notes, accented chords, and octave figures. The texture repeatedly rises into the high register, drops back into darker bass sonorities, and moves through strong crescendos and sudden softer passages. Measures 23–30 form a quieter coda: the running line continues over longer bass tones, climbs once more, and gives way to a sparse, very soft cadence.
