Long upper notes initially float above rounded groups in the lower part, giving the quick pulse an unusually full sound. The opening melody stretches across the bar lines while the accompaniment moves in groups of three. The parts gradually exchange these roles, and sequences of paired notes carry the music through increasingly chromatic harmonies. A more exposed upper passage briefly thins the texture before the fuller exchanges return. In the closing section, the texture opens into wider broken figures, softens, and then ends with a concise, firm final gesture. An interesting detail is the prolonged use of the high register: an octave indication extends over much of the upper part, creating a bright space above the closely voiced lower figures.
