At first, the bass traces rising and falling figures beneath separated upper intervals. The running motion gradually spreads through the texture, while sustained notes and slurred phrases add a broader melodic outline. Chromatic sequences carry the music through shifting harmonies, with passages of fuller motion alternating with quieter exchanges. Near the end, descending lines gather into a final upward surge, and short chords bring the movement to a crisp stop. An interesting detail is the change in the upper part's rhythm: its sparse opening gestures eventually become flowing groups that match the bass, so the texture gains momentum without a change of tempo.
