Its D-minor opening combines a chromatic pickup, sharply accented notes, and quick ornamental turns over a restless dance accompaniment. The first repeated section moves from bold short gestures into longer streams of sixteenth notes. A second section answers with heavier chords and emphatic accents, then briefly relaxes into a softer slowing passage and a suspended pause. The opening material returns at tempo, expands into higher runs and stronger chords, and drives toward an emphatic final cadence.
