Measures 3–10: The Agitato section climbs into alternating upper intervals and repeated inner notes. Chordal accents and chromatic turns carry the line through the high register before a softer descending response. Measures 11–18: The opening Agitato figure returns fortissimo. A contrasting pianissimo passage places widely separated upper notes above a repeated inner pitch, followed by flowing descents, paired intervals and renewed accents. Measures 19–26: Quieter interlocking figures move between upper intervals and lower notes. The bass expands into octave groups while the upper part continues its short repeated-note and chordal gestures. Measures 27–30: The music settles into the lower register. Independently sustained tones and short rhythmic replies lead through a rallentando to a low final chord and rests. The linked performance contains all three Nocturnes.
