The soft G-major opening, mm. 1–7, combines rising paired notes, accents and upper trills with a regular bass-and-chord accompaniment. Different note lengths within the upper part create little held notes against the moving line, and a small grace figure rounds off m. 7. The first and second endings, mm. 8–9, lead back to the opening or into the louder two-sharp passage, mm. 10–17, where the same rhythmic character takes on new pitches. After the local return through mm. 1–7, the marked Ausgang, mm. 18–22, rises through intervals before separated chords and a held final dyad.
