The introduction in measures 1–9 contrasts forceful dotted octaves and chord accents with a quieter high-register descent. A chromatic slowing passage and a trill lead to a pause before the Schottisch. Measures 10–24 present a grace-note melody with flowing short-note figures over bass notes and chords. The left hand briefly moves into the treble register, and the melody expands upward through a crescendo before the first and second endings in measures 25–26. The second strain, measures 27–42, introduces a broader octave melody and dotted figures at mf. Tied upper notes open into short runs, with stronger chord accents and small ornamental notes.
