The printed hand exchanges place the opening melody in the right hand and the repeated upper chords in the left; the hands return to the more usual arrangement for the accented replies. Measures 17–24 introduce a legato upper line above held inner notes and bass sonorities. Dotted figures and small lower movements lead to the first trill in measure 24. The melody continues through measures 25–34, with a second trill in measure 28 and more forceful octave and chord exchanges in measures 30–31. Short replies diminish through measures 35–40. Measures 41–56 return to the march figures with changed harmonies and renewed hand exchanges. The legato material follows in measures 57–64; the trill in measure 64 has a small written two-note ending. The continuation in measures 65–74 again grows through dotted figures, a trill in measure 68 and accented upper-register chords in measures 70–71. Measures 75–80 reduce the texture to separated upper replies and lower punctuation, ending quietly with rests.
