The arrangement keeps the familiar hymn melody clear, but surrounds it with changing meter, rolled-feeling chord textures, wide broken patterns, and a stronger final chordal section. The music begins spaciously, moves into a more flowing arpeggiated middle, and then grows into a broad ending with heavier chords and a full final sonority.

Measures 1–18 present the main hymn material with a steady 9/8 motion. The melody is placed above chordal support, with the left hand giving the harmony a broad foundation. The opening also shifts briefly into 12/8 before returning to 9/8, which gives the phrase a little more flexibility instead of staying in one strict pattern.

Measures 19–33 move into a more flowing middle section. The texture becomes more open, with broken patterns moving between the hands and the melody appearing above the motion. The 8va marking gives part of this section a brighter upper-register sound, while the left hand keeps the music moving with steady arpeggiated figures.

CeCe Winans performed the hymn at the Kennedy Center Honors, and Carrie Underwood also recorded it for her gospel album My Savior.
