Measures 1-16 introduce descending figures shared between the two parts, sustained chords, and isolated high notes with grace-note accents.
Measures 17-40 present a dotted melody in upper chords above alternating bass notes and lower chords. Short high-register replies punctuate the repeated phrases.
Measures 41-94 alternate descending, detached octaves with rising upper figures. Broken eighth-note lines with rests and chromatic notes contrast with the earlier bass-and-chord pattern, and the octave figures return between these passages.
Measures 95-118 bring back the dotted chordal melody and its high-register replies over the alternating accompaniment.
Measures 119-144 move through sustained lower notes, a brief low-register flourish, and softer dotted chords. Fuller chords, a trill, and rising and descending runs lead to the final chordal cadence.
