Measures 1-42 begin Vivo in 3/8. Descending upper runs and separate attacks lead to a dolce melody over lower bass-and-chord groups. Dotted phrases, triplets and chromatic turns vary the upper line, while lower arpeggios connect the replies.

Measures 43-58 introduce Un poco piu lento. Slurred upper phrases move over continuous lower arpeggios, alternating with held notes and small dotted figures. Rising replies broaden the melody before a held note and rests close the section.

Measures 59-73 change to Andante moderato in common time. A dolce upper melody moves over flowing lower eighth notes. A change of key introduces fuocoso phrases with fuller repeated lower chords, followed by longer slurred upper replies.

Measures 74-106 introduce Allegro vivace in 2/4. Short upper patterns and repeated notes move above separate lower bass and chord groups. The melody climbs through octave-marked passages, expands into longer running figures and ends with held notes and rests.

Measures 107-157 form an Allegretto passage. Two measures of repeated upper notes lead to a dolce paired-note melody; measures 109-116 are repeated. Leggiero figures develop the melody above moving lower groups, then fuller chords, rising figures and descending runs lead to quiet repeated notes and held replies.

Measures 158-206 change to Allegretto in 3/4. Slurred upper phrases alternate with staccato notes, triplets and descending runs over lower bass-and-chord patterns. Higher running figures lead to a return at measure 190 with octave-marked upper phrases above separate lower chords. Dolcissimo replies and small ornaments settle into held notes and rests.

Measures 207-222 introduce Allegro vivace in 6/8. Rising and falling upper figures alternate with fuller chord attacks and short high-register replies. The phrases descend and close with separated notes and rests.

Measures 223-285 change to Allegro in 2/4. Short upper figures, dotted rhythms and paired notes develop above moving lower chord groups. Octave markings extend the high register, and trills alternate with descending phrases. Fuller chords, chromatic runs and rising arpeggios broaden the passage before a fuocoso descent.

Measures 286-292 close with brilliant rising and falling upper figures over separate lower chords. Accented chord replies and rests lead to the final held chord.
