Measures 1–16 introduce accented upper octave figures in A major above detached bass notes and chords. Short rising and falling sixteenth-note phrases alternate with upper chords and lower octave figures.

Measures 17–24 move the flowing octave figures into the lower part beneath longer upper notes and chordal replies. Measures 25–53 restore the upper figures, then alternate them with lower runs and stronger chords. Matching octave passages in both parts lead to the slower held cadence.

Measures 54–77 return to the opening upper figures and bass-and-chord pattern. Fuller upper lines and chordal replies pass through changing harmonies, including B major at measure 69, before rising and falling octave exchanges lead to matching descending figures and the final chord.
