Intermediate piano arrangements
A familiar song in a different musical setting
Minor Jingle Bells is listed on RTV as its own piano arrangement title. The source song, Jingle Bells, was published by James Lord Pierpont in 1857 as The One Horse Open Sleigh. The Library of Congress preserves that early score, documenting the song before it acquired its now-familiar title. The Library of Congress’s original score record.
An alternative for a holiday program
A minor-key treatment offers a different perspective on a melody associated with winter and Christmas. It can provide contrast within a holiday program while keeping a familiar song at its center. The history here belongs to the original Jingle Bells; Minor Jingle Bells identifies the separate arrangement available on RTV.
