As the section continues, broken sixteenth-note chords in the left hand support longer upper phrases, including repeated notes and quick flourishes that reach into the high register.

The later part of the opening section makes the accompaniment more active. Long right-hand trills sit above moving left-hand figures, sometimes including double notes. Short phrases alternate forte and piano, while runs move first through the treble and then through the bass. The closing gestures bring the hands together in an ornamental cadence, and a repeat sign returns to the beginning of this section.

The middle section changes the atmosphere through closer chromatic movement and more continuous activity. Repeated upper notes, rapidly changing harmonies, and quick lower figures replace the opening’s spacious exchanges. Some passages combine an upper melody or repeated-note pattern with a trill in the left hand. Elsewhere, the lower line moves in groups of six while the upper voice answers with ornaments and sustained notes. These overlapping patterns create several layers within the piano texture.

The opening melody eventually returns with its recognizable pickup gesture, quiet dynamics, and lower octave support. Its continuation remains richly ornamented. The following pages revisit repeated upper notes, long trills over active accompaniment, and sharply contrasted short phrases. Runs again pass between the hands before the final decorated cadence. The movement closes with a compact chordal gesture marked forte-piano, rather than with a long, fading tail.
