“O Holy Night - Intermediate Piano Arrangement No. 2” is a four-page Christmas piano arrangement by Polly Bekasova. The piece is marked Andante and keeps the familiar carol melody clear in the upper voice while the left hand provides steady broken-note accompaniment. Compared with a simple hymn setting, this version gives the carol more motion and piano texture, using repeated arpeggio patterns, long melodic notes, fuller chordal moments, and a gradual build toward the final page.
Measures 1–23 present the opening statement of the carol. The right hand carries the melody in long, lyrical notes, while the left hand supports with steady broken patterns in 6/8. The texture is open and gentle, allowing the melody to sound clearly above the accompaniment.
Measures 24–53 continue the first large section with a broader version of the same texture. The left hand keeps the accompaniment moving almost continuously, while the right hand extends the melody through longer phrases and higher notes. The music gradually becomes fuller, but it still remains controlled and intermediate in style.
Measures 54–83 move into a more chordal middle section. The right hand now uses fuller two-note and chordal shapes while the left hand continues the flowing accompaniment underneath. This gives the arrangement a stronger, more hymn-like sound without completely leaving the broken-pattern texture.
Measures 84–102 continue the final build with the same right-hand chordal melody and steady left-hand arpeggios. The music becomes more settled and expansive, preparing the final return of the familiar closing phrase.
Measures 103–107 bring the arrangement to its final close. The right hand returns to a clearer melodic line while the left hand continues the flowing support underneath. The final measures settle into a broad cadence, giving the carol a reverent and complete ending.
Interesting fact: “O Holy Night” is one of the most dramatic Christmas carols because of the way it builds from quiet reverence into the famous “Fall on your knees” climax. That emotional shape has made it a favorite in Christmas concerts, films, television specials, and major vocal performances.
