Legato right-hand scales rise through successive positions above a measured bass, then turn down through chromatic neighbours. Held high notes and brief rests punctuate the flowing phrases. Short rising figures pass to the left hand before the right-hand line moves into a lower register and climbs again. The opening ascent returns near the close, followed by a descending reply and a final held note over the tonic harmony.
