“The Phantom of the Opera” is a piano arrangement of the title song from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical The Phantom of the Opera. Measures 1–9 introduce the famous opening pattern. The left hand creates the steady low-register motion, while the right hand adds accented chord tones and short rhythmic figures. The opening begins strongly at forte, then gradually leads into the first vocal phrase.
Measures 10–17 begin the main melody. The right hand carries the vocal line in a softer dynamic, while the left hand continues a steady bass pattern underneath. The melody uses longer slurs and held notes, giving this section a more singing quality after the dramatic introduction.
