Measures 1–4 repeat a quiet galloping figure, with a single bass note followed by two staccato right-hand thirds. Measures 5–12 contrast with a forte legato melody: the left hand carries measures 5–8, and the right hand answers in measures 9–12. This eight-measure section repeats.
Measures 13–18 return to the galloping figure, alternating short gestures with longer bass notes. The right hand rises an octave in measure 15 and returns to its original register in measure 17 as the dynamic falls to piano. Measures 19–20 end on a sustained bass note tied across the barline.
